The Maxi Skirt is so happening right now. But it’s not just another hot trend. Read through to find out why there’s more to the Maxi Skirt than what meets the eye.

1. The Maxi Skirt conceals your flaws

What’s not to love about a skirt that covers flabby calves? The Maxi Skirt gives you the freedom to wear skirts minus the insecurities of displaying thick legs, cellulite and spider veins. The skirt’s also good to petite bodies, as it elongates your bottom half, thus making your legs appear longer.

2. The Maxi Skirt loves your body

The great thing about the Maxi Skirt is that it subtly accentuates your behind! The next time you’re in a changing room trying on one, turn around and take a look at yourself- you will love how the skirt cascades from your hips to your buttocks. Pippa, who?

3. The Maxi Skirt’s beauty lies in its Simplicity

It’s a lazy Sunday morning, and you just don’t have the time or energy to dress up (or shave your legs) for brunch in the city. What do you do? Wear the same old jeans for the 100th time? Not happening! Instead, throw on a Maxi, and instantly look like a million bucks! Add as many cool accessories as to your liking. And if you’re harbouring a bulging tummy from all the chips you had over the week, just throw a baggy, belted top that skims over the bulge. Easy!

4. The Maxi Skirt is Ultra-Stylish

It goes without saying how fashionable the Maxi Skirt is right now. Celebrities all over the world are wearing Maxi Skirts- browse through any glossy mag this season, and you’ll find at least a couple of celebs photographed running around in Maxi Skirts. And the best part is that you don’t need a body like theirs to pull it off!

5. The Maxi Skirt is Ultra-Versatile

Wear it with flat sandals for holiday evenings, or wedges and platforms for a special day out- the Maxi Skirt goes with almost anything to everything. Breeze through summer in baggy cotton tops, or endure the wintry winds with chunky, knitted tops, and spunky scarves. Add a blazer for a more put-together look, and accessorise to your heart’s desire!

6. The Maxi Skirt can be colour-blocked

Another fantastic trend that’s making headlines in the fashion world, the colour-blocking theme works wonders on a Maxi Skirt. For example, a bold, slim Maxi Skirt in dark blue looks great paired with a fitted tee in sea blue. A pink top goes well with a bright red skirt. Go for colours that belong to the same colour family if you’re new to colour-blocking, but don’t be afraid to go bolder. 7. The Maxi Skirt is all about your personal style

Given the versatility of this amazing skirt, there are just so many ways you can wear it. And it all comes down to your style preference: Go casual chick with a cropped sweatshirt, or add a spark of retro with a tied-up button up tee. Walk tall in pumps and coloured socks, or go tomboy in converse and grungey in Doc Martens! Braid your hair or let it loose, or simply knot it up in a high bun- the choices are unlimited. Let your creativity run wild!

There you go! You just read 7 reasons why you should wear Maxi Skirts this season- and I’m sure once you wear one, you’ll love it so much, that you’ll come up with more reasons than mine! Make the most of this simple, body-loving skirt that’s so hot right now, and reap all its benefits like a true-style diva!

  1. Hi Fashionably Cheap!!!

I need your help. I brought this BEAUTIFUL maxi skirt in a peachy pink! The skirt shape and colour are the same as this photo of Rachel Bilson. http://tinyurl.com/65qlgqj

I am reading everywhere that I should wear it with flats, however its for a more special occasion where flats just wont do.

Could you please recommend what style of shirt and what style of shoe I would wear that works with this. I was thinking maybe even a body suit!

    Help!!!!
