Reader’s comment:
Hi Fashionably Cheap!!!
I need your help. I brought this BEAUTIFUL maxi skirt in a peachy pink! The skirt shape and colour are the same as this photo of Rachel Bilson. http://tinyurl.com/65qlgqj
I am reading everywhere that I should wear it with flats, however its for a more special occasion where flats just wont do.
Could you please recommend what style of shirt and what style of shoe I would wear that works with this. I was thinking maybe even a body suit!

Our suggestion:
Hi Lauren,
This maxi skirt is utterly gorgeous, and Rachel Bilson looks amazing in it. You’re fabulous for owning one of such!
I agree, sometimes flats just don’t fit the bill. There’s a special air of elegance and confidence when you see women walking tall in heels, besides the extra height of course!
At 5’2”, Rachel Bilson usually makes the smart choice of opting for heels. Although her footwear is not visible in this floor-sweeping maxi skirt, I found a photo from justjared.com where we can see a teeny-bit of it. I could be wrong, but I’m assuming she’s wearing biege studded clogs.
Rachel’s got it all perfect, from head to toe!
You are spot-on with the body-suit. The best way to combat the airiness of the maxi-skirt is to wear something (anything, really) that’s body-hugging on top.
So, here are a few ideas you can work with
Basic black or pretty polka dots, maybe?
Or how about this beautiful Lace Vest:
Throw a gorgeous boyfriend blazer over it:
Or a cropped one in Bran, perhaps?
And now for the fun part of Shoes!!!
Take your pick!
Hopefully my suggestions have given you some ideas of your own Lauren. Let me know how you go.
Cheers!
